Atty. Mark M. AverillaAtty. Mark M. Averilla

Mr. Averilla obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines, while he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the Bicol University in Legazpi City.

Mr. Averilla’s practice areas include general representation for corporations, partnerships and other business organizations ranging from major local companies and financial institutions to multi-national organizations.  His work with these organizations includes litigation, entity formation and compliance, planning and consummation of major transactions, mergers and acquisitions, debtor-creditor transactions, reorganizations and debt securitization, among others.  He also handled matters including employment contracts, directorship duties, sale transactions involving stocks or businesses, telecommunications, transportation and joint ventures. Mr. Averilla also handles alternative dispute resolution and intellectual property matters.

Mr. Averilla, who hails from Donsol, Sorsogon, likewise performed governmental work during his stint as a legal officer for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Mines Adjudication Board (MAB). He also served as consultant to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Mr. Averilla is an author and a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the Philippine Dispute Resolution, Inc. (PDRCI), Chamber of Real Estate Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA) and SEDALAW’s representative to Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP).

Mr. Salazar earned his degree in B.S. Electrical Engineering from the University of the Philippines and thereafter, his Juris Doctor degree, Second Honors (Silver Medalist) from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Prior to his career as a lawyer, Mr. Salazar was involved in government service. He joined the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) as Chief of Staff of the Deputy Commissioner and likewise, became the liaison of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to the Philippine Senate and consultant to the Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs.

Thereafter, Mr. Salazar actively pursued a career in litigation and took particular interest in the fields of intellectual property, construction arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, estate planning, power generation, telecommunications, environmental law, corporate special projects and contract law.

Mr. Salazar, who previously held the position of Governor of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in the Bicolandia Region, also became the youngest National President in the history of the IBP.

He is a member of the Philippine Bar Association (PBA) and the Philippine Dispute Resolution Inc. (PDRCI). Mr. Salazar was a Member of the Pollution Adjudication Board (PAB) and served as Consultant of the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR) and the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR). He was also a legal consultant of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

At present, Mr. Salazar is an Undersecretary of the Department of Justice.

Atty. Arthur R. DefensorAtty. Arthur R. Defensor

Mr. Defensor graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Philosophy. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. Defensor was a former consultant to the public relations requirements of the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines. As a litigator, Mr. Defensor specializes in the areas of intellectual property, election law, corporate special projects, and corporate litigation and contract law.

Mr. Defensor comes from the province of Iloilo and currently sits as one of the members of the Iloilo Provincial Board. He served as one of the members of the board of directors of the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO). He is also a member of the Philippine Bar Assocation (PBA) and the Vice-President of the Provincial Board Members’ League of the Philippines (PBMLP).

Mr. Enrile obtained his BS Commerce degree, major in Accounting from the Ateneo de Naga University and his Bachelor of Laws from the Ateneo de Manila University College of Law. He is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Lawyer, having passed the CPA Board in 1957 and the Bar exams in 1962.

An active player in the business industry, Mr. Enrile holds top posts in the Peñafrancia Sugar Mill, AW Fishing Corporation, Bicolandia Realty Development Corporation, and Peñafrancia College.

Mr. Enrile who hails from Naga City is fluent in English, Filipino and Fookien.

One of the founding partners of SEDALAW, Mr. Enrile obtained his A.B. Management Economics degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, graduating magna cum laude.

He subsequently completed his law studies at the Ateneo de Manila University and finished as the class salutatorian.

In the 1999 Bar Examinations, Mr. Enrile garnered the highest average to rank first place. As a practitioner, he focused on special projects and commercial transactions.

Mr. Enrile served as Deputy Executive Secretary of the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines. Currently, he is on a study leave while completing his master’s degree in business administration at the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

Mr. Enrile is fluent in English, Filipino and Fookien.

 

Atty. Elmer N.A. CadanoAtty. Elmer N.A. Cadano

Mr. Cadano graduated from the University of the Philippines with degrees of Bachelor of Science in Community Development and Bachelor of Laws.

A seasoned litigator, particularly specializing in the field of Intellectual Property Rights Protection and Enforcement, Mr. Cadano handled the requirements of most of the Philippines’ multinational companies in this field. He also has extensive network in the field of intellectual property and enforcement. Mr. Cadano has served as receiver in various corporate rehabilitation and insolvency proceedings. Aside from IPR, Mr. Cadano also specializes in corporate special projects, government contracts and privatization.

Mr. Cadano hails from Alitagtag, Batangas and currently holds the position of General Counsel of the Home Guaranty Corporation.

Atty. Mark Anthony C. AldaveAtty. Mark Anthony C. Aldave

Mr. Aldave received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Arellano University in 2004. He successfully hurdled the 2004 bar exams and became a member of the bar in 2005.

Mr. Aldave, who traces his roots to San Andres, Catanduanes, studied at De La Salle University-Manila for his pre-law degree. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree, major in Business Management, in 1998.

Mr. Aldave handles corporate, civil, and criminal litigation, labor, and special projects.

Mr. De Mata earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2004 and officially became a member of the Philippine Bar in 2005.

In 2000, Mr. De Mata, whose family comes from Labo, Camarines Norte, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Legal Management also from the University of Santo Tomas.

Mr. De Mata handles corporate and civil litigation, labor, and special projects.

Ms. Jaud-Fetizanan obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2007 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2008. She likewise received her pre-law degree, Bachelor of Arts, major in Literature, from the University of Santo Tomas, graduating magna cum laude and batch valedictorian.

In college, she was a member of the school’s official student publication, the Varsitarian, where she was associate editor and circle (lifestyle) editor. While attending to her law studies, she was a member of the UST Law Review and taught Filipino Literature at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Ms. Jaud, who hails from General Santos City handles corporate and criminal litigation, and special projects.

Ms. Boma, who comes from Daet, Camarines Norte, handles corporate and criminal litigation, and special projects.
