Litigation
While trying cases is our passion, we understand the importance of knowing when to go to court and when to employ alternatives. Where appropriate, we have embraced alternative dispute resolution with significant success, advising clients on viable options including mediation.

Retainer
SEDALAW recommends to its clients a Retainer Services and General Counseling Agreement for them to become general retainer clients and thereby maintain a continuing relationship with the Firm.
The Agreement covers all functions related to the day-to-day affairs of the client. This agreement embodies the Firm's commitment to serve as the client's external legal counsel and to make available to the client the services of all the Firm's lawyers through its various practice areas. These consist of the following:
• Consultations – the giving of legal advice on pertinent laws, cases, rules and regulations affecting corporate, tax, financial, insurance, and labor relations aspects of the client’s activities;
• Documentation – this includes the preparation and review of simple legal documents such as bills, deeds and other contracts; and
• Rendering other legal activities required in the ordinary course of the client's business.
The Firm has likewise served as retained counsel of various companies and, on several occasions, has even detailed its lawyers to certain retainer clients to temporarily perform the functions of their in-house legal counsel.
Upon client’s request, SEDALAW can provide corporate secretarial services by assigning a lawyer that act either as the company’s corporate secretary or assistant corporate secretary who will ensure prudent and orderly corporate housekeeping.
Labor and Employment
The legal landscape of labor and employment law is complex and constantly changing. SEDALAW lawyers stay abreast of new decisions, the direction of the courts, and the tactics of our opposition. Intellectual Property
SEDALAW’s Intellectual Property Practice brings together a consortium of legal and scientific talent, experienced in handling complex legal business issues surrounding patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets.
The Firm represents clients in all aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and handles the registration of patents and trademarks with the Intellectual Property Office (IPOPHIL) and of copyrights with the Copyright Division of the National Library. Immigration
SEDALAW’s immigration law practice is focused on rendering legal assistance to non-Filipinos in acquiring the proper visas (including employment visas, investors’ visas, etc.), work permits and other requirements mandated by the Philippine Government. We also provide assistance to qualified former Philippine citizens in acquiring dual citizenship.
The Firm has substantial experience in the field of immigration law. It aids clients in securing visas, work permits, and Department of Justice and Department of Labor and Employment clearances; and the deportation and exclusion of illegal aliens, screening and lifting hold departure orders and lifting of blacklisting.
Tax
SEDALAW’s tax practice covers a broad range of tax services, embracing all areas of tax planning and tax counseling, which includes:
• General counseling on national and local taxation
• Estate planning
• Tax consultation which focuses on consultation, advice and opinions on tax consequences of clients’ transactions, taking into account domestic tax law and the use and effect of double taxation treaties

Special Projects
SEDALAW’s Special Projects Team is tasked by the Firm to handle concerns which involve extraordinary corporate and commercial transactions of the Firm’s clients, and other matters which do not fall within the services offered by the Firm’s other practice areas. The breadth of this field spans SEDALAW's collective experience in corporate and government special projects, to include: debt restructuring, suspension of payments, corporate rehabilitation, mergers and acquisitions, legal due diligence and intra-corporate disputes. Because of the complexity and diversity of the matters handled, the Team gives premium to flexibility and responsiveness. The Team is confident in its ability to assemble, even on short notice, project groups uniquely qualified to undertake even the most complex and difficult assignments. This coming together of the various resources of the firm into a special projects team is designed to keep the firm flexible and nimble in meeting the ever-varying demands of its clients.
