IPO holds training on Online Trademark filing

IPO logoThe Philippine Intellectual Property Office (IPO) conducted a Seminar/Training on Online and Electronic Trademark Filing on 31 March 2009. It was conducted by the Bureau of Trademarks for members of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines (IPAP) of which SEDALAW is a member.

The trainig/seminar was aimed at educating IP practitioners in the Philippines on the advantages and proper use of Trademark Online and Electronic Filing services (also known as TM Online and TM E-filing, respectively) being offered by the IPO. Some of the salient features of TM Online and TM E-filing are, as follows:

  1. TM Online is available 24/7 while TM E-filing is available only during IPO office hours.
  2. Filing via TM Online is done through the internet (off-site) while TM E-filing is done personally before the IPO (on-site)
  3. In TM Online, payment is made through the internet while in TM E-filing, the fees should be paid to the IPO cashier.

The Seminar/Training, which was held at the IP Philippines Multi-Purpose Hall, IP Philippines Building, 351 Gil Puyat Avenue, Makati City, coincided with the launching of the new and upgraded IPO website.
